Coastal Consignment
A Helpful Guideline to Consigning with Coastal
-
We are not brand specific, but naturally certain trending brands will sell better than others. We are not high-end focused, but rather casual, young, contemporary, street style, and an affordable shop that caters to all. We accept all brands and sizes. This is just a guideline.
ALL SIZES! We cannot stress this enough. We carry sizes XS-3X, and we try to keep a similar amount of each size on the floor at all times. Whatever the size, it must fit with our store brand & aesthetic.
Casual, comfy, and chic that we would anticipate our own staff to wear.
Perfect condition purses and footwear. Check the bottoms and insides. Due to limited space, please send pictures of these items ahead of time before bringing them in.
Good quality basics, i.e, t-shirts, classic denim, high quality sweaters, little black dresses, button down shirts, etc.
90’s inspired pieces. Think graphic tees and loose fitting styles.
Trending social media brands. Think Smash & Tess, Brunette the Label, etc.
In style fabrics colours & shapes.
Coastal grandma/grandpa & cottage core fashion.
BRANDS WE DRAW INSPIRATION FROM: Aritzia, Anthropologie, Free People, Zara, Topshop, Nordstrom, Madewell, Oak and Fort, Lululemon, Camp Brand Goods, H&M, Levi’s, Aerie, American Eagle, NastyGal, Princess Polly, etc.

If you are ever unsure, just ask us! There are many reasons we may not accept your pieces, and we will use our discretion to take items that fit our brand and customer demand. We promise, it’s nothing personal!
Dated (skinny jeans), worn, ripped, or items with strange odours.
Pro tip: check the crotch
Jewellery (no jewellery will be accepted on consignment).
PJs and lingerie: Just nope. Loungewear sets are good though!
Dated styles, unless obviously cool retro/vintage.
Bedazzled or gemmed items. Think Guess, True Religion, and Ed Hardy
Clothing with holes, tears, or piling.
Anything with excessive hair or wrinkles.
Ready to consign?

1.
NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED. If you are a new consigner, you are required to fill in a Consignment Contract. You will also need to fill out a Consignor Drop Off form every time you come in and drop off new items.
-
2.
Drop off one garbage bag during our business hours, unless otherwise stated. We do not accept clothing on hangers or in bins/bags that you want back. We will then confirm if your items can be donated or if you’d like to come back and collect the items we do not accept to put on the sales floor.
Consignors receive 40% of the selling price of their items and the credit can be used on anything in store at any time. There will be no payout option (in-store credit only). You may drop new things off once a month (max 25 items at every drop off).
-
3.
A garbage bag must be sealed and clearly labelled with NAME, PHONE NUMBER, & EMAIL. We will not be sorting through your items when you bring them in. We will be selecting items that fit with our store brand and that sell well. ALL items must be laundered and free of stains/holes.
-
4.
If you choose to pick up what is not selected for the sales floor, you must come back to collect your items. One email will be sent and you will be given a specific date to pick up your items by. They will be automatically donated to one of our donation partners if the consignor does not pick up their items by said date. You will not receive a reminder. It is the consignor’s responsibility to check in and see if they have items to collect.
You can download an app to track your items and see what money is available on your account.
-
5.
At the end of the 12 week consignment period, if there are any items that did not sell: The consignor will be notified by email if they have any remaining items and will be given a date to pick up their items. Consignor’s must pick up unsold items by this date or again, they will be donated to one of our donation partners. We will not be sending out reminders, as it is the consignors responsibility to pick up their items in a timely manner.

6.
Your clothing will remain on the sales floor for a total of 12 weeks (or end of season - whichever comes first). Coastal reserves the right to remove items from the floor at any time due to defect, problem not detected upon intake, or make room for more seasonal items. Items will be at full price for 8 weeks, then reduced by 25% for 2 weeks, and some items may be reduced to 50% in the final 2 weeks. During the last month items may be taken off the sales floor at any time due to space, lack of interest, seasonal change, etc.
